A sophisticated, pause-resisting double love story spanning 40 years-an unforgettable Brief Encounter for our times. It is 1960. When Jennifer Stirling wakes up in the hospital, she can remember nothing-not the tragic car accident that put her there, not her husband, not even who she is. She feels like a stranger in her own life until she stumbles upon an impassioned letter, signed simply "B", asking her to leave her husband. Years later, in 2003, a journalist named Ellie discovers the same enigmatic letter in a forgotten file in her newspaper's archives. One of the best novels I've listened to in a long time. It's beautifully written, suspenseful and very romantic, featuring star-crossed lovers in the 1960s and in the early 21st century.

Classic love story - well read - great listen!Just as good as "Me Than You" - different, but just as well written and read.Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!

Any additional comments?A heart-warming story about love lost and found. Great present story with strong ties to the past.

Would you listen to The Last Letter from Your Lover again? Why?Yes, it is so moving, the characters are so real, the plot so well developed. What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last Letter from Your Lover? When I learned that Boot was the librarian.Which character – as performed by Susan Lyons – was your favorite?BootWho was the most memorable character of The Last Letter from Your Lover and why?Jennifer. So much more time is spent with her.And she drove me mad with how she treated Boot.I wanted to shake her.Any additional comments? The book got off to such a slow start, with no action for so long, that I got bored and nearly put it down for good. But boy am I glad I didn't!It ranks as one of the more memorable books I have ever read.

Would you try another book from Jojo Moyes and/or Susan Lyons? It took me so long to get through this book compared to her others. The beginning of the story verged on confusing and boring. It was difficult to follow. The real story didn't pick up until part three and even that was predictable.

Where does The Last Letter from Your Lover rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?Close to the top - this was a great story and well told. What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last Letter from Your Lover? It was not predictable - many surprises and all good!

Loved the story! It has an intriguing plot, well developed, and humanly, imperfect characters finding their way to happiness, and even lovein a world not always kind, and rarely easy.

I liked how the book forced the reader to imagine what life was like, before the age of computers, texting and gender equality. I imagine this would be an interesting read if you were contemplating an extra marital affair.

I had a hard time connecting with the characters at first but see now the necessity of the way the story began.I don't think there is another writer out there right now who can capture the human essence the way this author does I don't have the words to describe how deeply this book affected me and how it has caused me to reexamine the choices we make and the timing of those choices. What if one choice costs years?Absolutely beautiful.

The romance by JoJo is so wonderfully portrayed that you can feel it within yourself....you want it for yourself. I love a good book that literally takes me away! Very sweet.
