Hollyhead took there liberties, as usual. But the liberties taken changed the entire tone if the book and warped the characters in a way that will make this book a whole new adventure!

I have never said this before, but the movie was better. The book book lacks the excitement of the movie, offering instead poor arguments for anti-science claptrap verging on mysticism.

Scott Brick narrated beautifully, as usual. The story was good, and perhaps, if I hadn't seen the movie first, I may have enjoyed this more, but I really felt that much of this story was " preachy." Malcolm goes on and on, frequently repeating himself, which is bad enough, but then some of the other characters quote him... More than once the obstinence of some of the characters seemed like an excuse to go on about chaos theory. And by the end of the book, the little sister acted more like a caricature of a little sister than I think is realistic in the situation.I'm not sorry that I read it, but this is definitely not a reread for me.

great book, but aren't they always better then the movies. lots of changes made in the movie, but the book always prevails! wonderful!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?The story is fairly good except when one of the characters makes a long, preachy speech. The mathematician Malcolm makes a lot of these.Would you be willing to try another book from Michael Crichton? Why or why not?Probably not. What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?Good dramatic voiceWas Jurassic Park worth the listening time?5 out of 10

I remember when I read Crichton's Jurassic Park years ago when I was young and thought it was a great story. Now listening to it decades later, I'm not sure if this is one of those stories that is better read. Save your credit for something else.

It's been a long time since I first read this and was delighted to see that it was in Audio format! I'd forgotten a lot of the book because I've watched the movie more times than I can count!! So this was kinda like reading it again for the first time, and boy did I enjoy it! I think I pretty much listened to it non stop over the course of 2 days. Brilliant book and definitely worth the listen.Scott Brick was fantastic. He captured the story perfectly and brought this to life! I will definitely be checking out more from him!

Found myself annoyed at the dialogue, the narrator and especially Lex. Movie was much better as I recall.

This is just a wonderful Audible experience. Michael Crichton is a brilliant researcher who does a fabulous job of explaining complex scientific and mathematical ideas to the lay person. He also weaves a story of suspense at just the right pace. It gets a bit gory at times, which I choose to not focus on, but, well, it has to happen in a story involving T-Rex and Raptors. Scott Brick also performs brilliantly, not over-feminizing the women's voices so as to sound like a drag queen, but rather telling the story with just the right pace and urgency. Do not hesitate - Read this book!

Michael Crichton died in 2008 and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed his books. An engaging story teller of techno thrillers that were both entertaining and educational. The science behind Jurassic Park seems so straight forward that I would not be surprised to learn Disney World has opened a new theme park where the guests are sometimes eaten by the attractions.
