I just finished episode 4 of the series, moving to 5th. I was really curious what people think of this episode and jumped on here for a bit. I see a lot of reviews saying episode 4 was not necessary and it just broke the whole rhythm of the serial. I must say I STRONGLY disagree, it gave us an insight on how these guys became like this and why do they do it. I'm sure if the series didn't have this kind of episode, all the reviews would be about "no info on their background? Why do they actually do this?". Anyhow, you can pretty much anticipate from the beginning that they aren't 100% bad guys, they're just "hungry and have nothing to lose". Overall, great series so far! Kept me really glued to the screen.

"Flight 601" takes viewers on a turbulent journey through the harrowing events of a real-life hijacking, offering a glimpse into the chaos and uncertainty faced by those onboard. While the premise holds promise, the film's execution often veers into the realm of incredulity, leaving audiences questioning the veracity of certain events depicted on screen. This ambiguity between fact and fiction can be both intriguing and frustrating, as viewers grapple with discerning what is true and what is embellished for dramatic effect. The film's strength lies in its ability to capture the tension and fear experienced by the passengers and crew during the hijacking. The claustrophobic atmosphere aboard the aircraft, combined with the constant threat of violence from the hijackers, keeps viewers on the edge of their seats throughout. However, these intense moments are often undercut by implausible plot developments or unrealistic character actions, detracting from the overall impact of the story. Despite its flaws, "Flight 601" does offer some compelling performances from its cast, particularly in portraying the resilience and courage of those caught up in the crisis. The emotional depth conveyed by the actors helps to humanize the otherwise chaotic and surreal events unfolding on screen, drawing viewers further into the narrative. Ultimately, "Flight 601" is a film that requires a certain level of commitment from its audience. While its basis in true events may initially lend it credibility, the liberties taken with the source material may leave some viewers feeling frustrated or misled. Nevertheless, for those willing to overlook its shortcomings, "Flight 601" offers a gripping if somewhat uneven cinematic experience.

I usually do not like two aspects of this kind of shows... First, real life events. Second, Colombian series. However, this show has so much to say. I loved this sbow. It was engaging from beggining to end. The show follows Edilma, Barbara, the pilots and the hijackers. This show give us everything we need. The drama, the action, the tension. I have never felt so much tension like I did in episodes 2 and 3. Then after episode 4, it becomes a show about injustice. This show has so much to say, and of course it is dramatic. That's the whole latin essence. I would recommend everyone to look for herself this show. It gives you a look into how hard it is the latin american culture. Some people jus have to work so much harder than other to survive.

I thought this would be a really good series, but right from the first episode I could see how terrible it was going to be. I usually like these kinds of shows that are often based on real events, but this one let me down so badly. I've seen a lot of Hispanic shows and this one pales in comparison to almost all of them. The characters written are terrible and I have no sympathy for Edlima in particular. White colored first but then she became this judgmental holier than thou idiot who resorted to blaming the captain for her own failures. The only character I liked was Barbara. I thought she was well written and well executed by the actress. The whole backstory of the hijackers was a good idea in terms of morality and suffering, but the execution was terrible. It felt forced and coercive almost unnatural. It felt as if they are trying to make this into a gray story just for the sake of drama. The end credits would say that this is based on a real story, but things have been added for drama is really the red flag. I mean at least make the drama believable. The terrorists seem like a bunch of children and are not scary at all. The first time flight attendant was really so annoying- I understand and sympathize that it was the first time but she did not improve at all throughout the show. I mean at some point your survivor instinct has to kick in right? Comes back to my point of the characters and the writing being not realistic. Furthermore, the whole thing was totally unengaging and listless and felt like every episode was just dragging on for no reason. Somehow I managed to finish the series. Hoping that every episode brought something good but nothing happened. I wish I hadn't wasted my time.

I really enjoyed watching this series. On the one hand it's a drama but it also has moments of comedy and lots of humanity as well. And the story it's based on is fascinating as well. There are multiple stories about the different characters entwined and the characters are mostly likeable and relatable. The acting is pretty good. I watch a lot of Spanish movies and series to practice my Spanish and this is one that I really enjoyed. I think the script writers did a good job of taking the original story and turning it into a series that kept your attention until the end. I recommend it but your mileage may vary.

This drama started really well only for it to fissile out at episode 4 when the focus of the episode was on the Hi-jackers themselves. So here we have a drama of a dramatic real life hi-jacking of a plane in the early 70's the mistake of this drama was the story order as the focus of episode 4 should have been at the start i.e episode 1. To shovel in the back story halfway through the series considering you are telling a real life event only leads to confusion and disengagement on the viewer. So with Ep 4 out of the way the story gets back on track somewhat but seems by episode 6 it has become too over dramatic and too much poetic license has been used, the over use of swearing too (and I don't mind bad language) was not necessary I would have scored this higher if it was shorter as the acting was very good. .

The Hijacking of Flight 601 is based on real events and it had some good acting, although I did not know the highly valued (in the reviews) Monica Lopera at all. This series could be much more exciting and realistic if it had been a movie, no doubt. The 1st episode left me frustrated because it seems like a soap opera melodrama with comedy tones to me, and I know the Latin American mentality and language well. I kept watching it, but without success, too long and a lot of invented drama, this takes away from its quality in my opinion. It becomes tiring and boring between some exciting moments, the drama and the analysis of the characters dominates. This was simply not my cup of tea.

Not worth it. Spare yourself the pain. Should have been a movie or much much shorter drama. The acting was really good. The swearing was unnecessary. The 4th episode was a massive waste of time. Just wanted the whole thing to end. I now need to add more characters to this review just to ensure that it is uploaded and therefore stands the chance of diverting a few unsuspecting strangers from a true life drama that should have been much better. I would have preferred a less dramatical version and rather a pure documentary. If you're hoping for a documentary then please note: this is not a documentary.

The series start very well, about the real story how the plane was hijacked in the 70s in South America. Then comes episode 4 and story rhythm is broken and series is actually divided into two parts. The 4th episode about how these crazy sort of revolutionaries are made is really unnecessary because it tells the banality that our past puts impact on our future. And this banality actually dooms the following episodes. Suddenly it's hard to understand motives of hijackers and crew actions and the ending of the series is very weird. I am also tired of modern concept about stupid cowardly men and brave heroic women. Another example how to ruin a potentially good series.
