I wanted to like this movie, I really did, the main character, Psycho Goreman is fun and with good one liners and really agressive, but the human characters are written terrible. There isn't a likeable human, Mimi is the kid you want to kick, her brother is a weak boy, her family is a mess, with a very weak father figure. There is this theme where women are powerful and men are really weak in this movie, all except PG and he is the bad guy. I would have liked more humor, more humor from gore and for the humans to be more likeable. Why is Mimi so mean to everyone in a unlikeable way? When she prays to God and asks Him what sunglasses to wear because she already knows everything and then she break a cross on her knee... why? It leaves the impression that everyone learns some lessons from this experience, but I really don't see it and I don't see how PG could learn things about love from this family. That's a big no for me.

It takes a lot of talent to blend gore, cheese, and heart. Psycho Goreman manages it in spades. A love letter to 80s horror-scifi, it is hilarious, bloody, and darkly sweet. The most fun you'll have watching a movie this year.

Okay: Aesthetically, this movie is amazing! The team behind the practical effects should be winning awards left right and centre...THAT SAID though... This movie really had the potential to shine but I find time and time again, the producers never put enough importance on shining up that script. It had a charming premise and although--on average--I'd say the actors' abilities were somewhere in the "adequate" to "above adequate" range, the story really left much to be desired. A real shame because it did have potential. The writers and producers deserve a 2/10, the actors somewhere in the 6/10 range and the special effects team deserves a 9/10.

One of the main characters, a child actress named Mimi, is so obnoxious and such a bad actor that she makes the movie practically unwatchable, Such a shame considering this movie had so much imagination behind it.

"Psycho Goreman" is a great dark comedy-horror film, full of cool tribute scenes to the 80's and 90's horror films, also the story is set in the 90's. The prosthetic makeup effects are great, the performances are fine, the music score is wonderful, the cinematography is not bad but it's not that awesome either and the direction is good. The script deserves a long talking, it is really good, cheesy and full of gore scenes, a mix between "The Gate", "Hellraiser", "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" and "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy", even there is some anime elements. The characters are funny and their humor is heavy at times. A great film, a modern classic!

Is it funny? NO Is it scary? NO Is it Good? NO The start is just stupid then it gets more stupid and just keeps on the stupid path of stupidity. What was funny was a prior review "I've seen almost every movie" Sorry I hate to inform you that you have not seen approximately 90% of all movies.

Sauce

It's a mix of 80s low budget sci-fi and explicit gore horror. Psycho Goreman as a character is pretty fun. The lead child character? Terrible. Not the actress' fault - she's doing as she's directed. But as a character she's just written and directed as a completely unlikeable lead, full of hatred and obnoxiousness. It's a combination of Troma films and The Gate. Unfortunately, it also incorporates the bad parts of those films.
