Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Really solid story. The male narrator was great but the female narrator was way off. It was distracting from the story listening to her.She sounded nothing like an 18-25 year old.And her voice didn't reflect Fallon's character.Love Colleen Hoover's books and this was a really good story!

love stories: as much as some of us think know how we want to falling in love, dream of fairy tale love, and want an unconditional love. I think November 9th love is the best. when you think what is going to happen next on the plot line Colleen Hover writes a curve ball.

conflicted feelings on this one
conflicted feelings on this oneSep 6, 2022

On one hand, I loved this at first because of all the feels I had reading it. I love the continuous angst and tension. However, my first instinct was that the whole premise of the plot (meeting only once a year) seemed unrealistic. Then I read other critiques and realized how messed up a lot of this book is. Ben is creepy and manipulative and so many times doesn't respect Fallon's feelings and even non-consent at times. Again, I enjoyed how this book made me feel and I can suspend reality to enjoy something that in real life would not be ok. However, it is disturbing how this creepy behavior is normalized.Aside from that I like the snippets of poetry at the beginning of each chapter. Angela Goethals is a fantastic narrator, I love her voice. Zachary Webber is good too, his character just sucks lol.

I thought I was a fan of Colleen Hoover but this one just did not do it for me. It was like the entire book was one never ending overly dramatic love scene. I can really get into a cheesy romance but I found myself rolling my eyes so hard at this one.

the female narrator almost ruined the book which is odd cause Angela Gothaels was awesome in Pretty Reckless by LJ Shen...monotone narration is the worse!thank goodness for Zachary Webber

I have read/listened to many Hoover books and this was one of my favorites. The 2 narrators are basically the same in all her audio books and I like them. The woman can be a little dramatic but the man is spot on. I loved this story and it always left me wanting more. Well done Colleen!

I love Colleen Hoover and I love most of all her books but this one wasn’t one of them. Very romantic, cliff hangers but it fell short at the end for me.

Almost gave up at the beginning from the narration
Almost gave up at the beginning from the narrationSep 6, 2022

After I heard the female voice I immediately returned the book. I knew I couldn't finish the book listening to the slow melodramatic tone. But when I realized I got the book from a sale and I wouldn't get any credit back, I got the book back. I read the review of the book and was curious about the author so I continued reading only after I realized speeding up the female narration would make it bearable. It was a little bit of a pain when I had to get switching back and forth on the narration speed but I had to in order to finish. The story was good. I found myself wanting to follow through to see what would happen on each November 9. I cried a little from the plot at the end. Overall, it was worth my time reading it but I didn't love it.

A book for petulant drama queens
A book for petulant drama queens Sep 6, 2022

Fallon's monologues are insufferable. There is so much 'I Can't Even!' eyeroll spirit I was actually choking on it. Then there's the whole hackneyed "Ugh. My father's soooo selfish and lame" trope. Add to it the female narrator sounding like a histrionic yoga instructor, adding seconds of extra breath to Fatherrrr and ends of sentences. This is not a book for adults who want characters and character development. This is a book for teenagers who feel less than beautiful (yawn at the originality of that) and who want a 2-dimensional person/object to relate to. These characters are not interesting or original, and everything about this was a disappointment. Glad I got this on credit. Two stars only because anyone who actually works to write and publish deserves credit just for the hurdles.

This book was engaging and well written.A very sweet live story. Every girl dreams to have a Bentonville in her life. The only negative I have to say did not have to do with the book, but the female narrator.I found her too dramatic at times causing me to roll my eyes even. It took a bit away from. setting the mood for the story at times. With that in mind, the book was totally worth the read.

The book was fine. Just fine. But the female narrator was so over the top melodramatic! I had a hard time listening to her. I almost stopped listening because of her. I did finish the book but some of the things that the characters did seemed a little hard to believe given their ages. It just wasn’t for me.

Pretty cheesy at times but generally a good listen, I enjoyed the "twist" ending. The woman who voiced Fallon was pretty awful, though. Her narration was so stretched and monotone that I had to listen on 1.25 speed just to get through her parts. Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend, just listen to Fallon at 1.25 speed so you don't throw yourself off a cliff while driving.

Horrible narrarator

I cannot even get into the story because the female narrarator is so computerized sounding with strange pauses in between words. What an odd choice.

A Very Good Story
A Very Good StorySep 6, 2022

But then all of Colleen Hoover's stories are good. They are just so full of angstI end up depressed even while I'm enjoying it.I know that doesn't make much sense but that's exactly what happens to me in most of her books. This book desperately needed some lighter moments to allow the reader to catch their breath and recover a little from time to time. The story was pretty much saved from only being two stars by Zachary Webber's narration. He really is good.Angela Goethal's narration just plays on all that angst and makes the whole thing worse.Don't get me wrong, a little angst is a good thing, more than a little can even be exciting as it keeps you on the edge of your chair, but too much leaves me feeling like I've been drowned in a wave of heartbreak. But for readers with a higher tolerance for gloom and doom it's a very good story.

Would you consider the audio edition of November 9 to be better than the print version?I love audiobooks and it doesn't take away from the print version, it enhances it when it has great narrators like in this case. Any additional comments? The emotional roller coaster that you experience in CoHo's books is like no other. Always leaving you blindsided when that plot twist occurs. Enjoyed every minute of it.

If you could sum up November 9 in three words, what would they be?Creative, enthralling, emotional.Which scene was your favorite? When she was leaving the first time in the airport. Hysterical and makes you fall in love with him right at that point. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?Love: is it worth the wait?Any additional comments? If you like Colleen Hoover, she hits this one out of the park (again). If you haven't read a Colleen Hoover, this is a great place to start.

I must be too old for this book. it's obviously written for 16-25 yr old young women. I'm definitely older than that! I couldn't even finish this book the writing is so cliché.I loved Verity, by this author, so I chose another. I definitely chose wrong. I think her teenage daughter (if she has one) wrote this one.

What made the experience of listening to November 9 the most enjoyable?Great reader.Holy Cow, I had to remind myself to breathe. Seriously my abs are bit sore from tension.People describe anything as "breath taking" but this is the first book ever that literally took my breath away! What did you like best about this story?Shocking. It goes along sweet and slow then "WHAM" it hits you with a baseball bat.Which character – as performed by Zachary Webber and Angela Goethals– was your favorite? They reallywere the characters. They performed so well that you forget it's a freaking book.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?A couple of chuckles but a bunch of tears.Any additional comments?I think the next time I read a CH book, I'm takingClonopin.

Just awful
Just awfulSep 6, 2022

This is the most stupid premise for a book I’ve ever heard. First, there’s insta-love that’s totally unbelievable, then the female tells the male writer NOT to include insta-love in his novel because it’s dumb. The author should have taken her own advice. Everything else about the book is stupid and unbelievable. I love C Hoover, but have totally lost respect for her with this book. I didn’t finish it because I couldn’t listen to any more stupidity, and I was bored to tears.

I’m normally such a fan of Colleen Hoover’s books, but MAN, this was bad. I couldn’t even finish it. I’m not sure if it was the horrible female narrator or the unbelievably cheesy writing, but with only 2 hours left in the book, I had to stop listening. Definitely do not recommend!

i think I may have enjoyed it more with a different female narrator; Angela Goethals' voice was overly dramatic and her pace was... excruciatingly...slow... and.... .painful. the story itself was interesting, took some unexpected turns and was emotional, but after a while I was ready for the angst to end.

I love, love, love Zachary Webber and he did not disappoint. However, I had a hard time listening to Angela. I found myself skipping through her dialogue as much as I could. Some of that could be attributed to her character being a little annoying as well. I finished though and it had a nice ending.

The female narrator made this book IMPOSSIBLE to listen to.I'd buy the print copy but I'm irritated that the author allowed the audible version to be released with this horrible narration. Seriously...Angela Goethals needs a constant caffeine drip if she continues to narrate novels.

Colleen Hoover very rarely goes wrong for me. This was well worth the highly anticipated release. It ripped me to shreds and left me with my mouth open and my emotions all over the place. I think Zachary Webber always does a good job but I just can't deal with Angela Goethals. The robotic voice and awkward pauses just leave me irritated at her voice. Even with that being said, it's worth the money, the credits... All of it.

I had to stop listening to this book after a couple of chapters because of the female narrator. I don't know much about Angela Goethals, but her narration of this book was robotic, unnatural, and lacked emotion. I purchased the paperback in order to finish because listening was uncomfortable.

An enjoyable novel with likeable characters and a plot line that surprises the reader as it unfolds.Fast-paced, but not ridiculously so.Some of the modern slang and phrases seemed a little out of place, and at times I felt like the character development could have been deeper, but overall, I liked it!
