I don't understand all the hatin' on this movie. I rarely ever leave reviews outside of the number, but this was WAY better than sone of the other reviews say. It had a great cast, a great amount of humor, many touching moments, and some great messages throughout the film. It was truly enjoyable. I loved the music and seeing all the culture. DEFINITELY worth a watch!
When 2 people come together to form a union, they will bring 2 families together. And with that scenario comes the problems to the union. It's hard enough to unite 2 people, let alone 2 families. But that's the charm of this movie. The fiasco leads to a satisfying closure. This movie is a decent family dramedy, don't let the nay-sayers stop you from watching it. Cause what some people call boring, others call it sweet and warm. So cheers to the bride and groom!
When watching the father of the bride is supposed to be a romantic comedy, this movie was neither romantic nor comedy and it was so slow and so boring. Nothing was funny about this movie it was super slow and boring. If this movie was about something else that we expected it still would've been a terrible movie because it was so boring.
Two hours of my life that I'll never get back.... maybe if you cut it by at least 30 minutes it might have made it a little more tolerable and less of a snooze fest but it just is just a very slow, very boring, very painful death.
If you like Latin culture, Miami views and a good romantic comedy, then see this movie. Love the blend between the Cuban and Mexican influences. The movie is definitely better second half of the film. !Que disfruten!
Why must Hollywood, who never seems to have an original idea anymore, ruin classic 80's/90's films. Everything is woke and the only culture not celebrated is the American culture.
Only managed to get 34mins into the film before switching off. Did not laugh once. I was expecting them to replicate the comedy of the original film, crossing over with something like My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It was so boring, the characters have zero chemistry between them, the dialogue was flat. Compared to the original this was complete garbage.
Cute movie with funny parts. Same old Hollywood Woke messaging though. Men are buffoons and women are superior. This was obviously written by Woke white people that didn't do their research on Latin culture and weddings.
Sauce
Unfortunately another ethnic remake of a classic film that does not hit the mark. As other have said, no chemistry between the leads and it's panders to the Latin culture. Please Hollywood, make ORIGINAL films. Not crappy remakes where genders/ethnicity is being switched to appeal to certain groups.
