Let me start off saying that I know next to nothing about the US military so Im purely looking at this from an enjoyment factor. i started this show having no idea really what it was about (or even that it was a comedy) but I found it really fun. it feels like it could verge on being stupid but I haven't found that yet. I love the relationship between the brothers, it's both sweet and cheeky and there's a lot of love there. I also like how they do cover real issues such as how soldiers can feel returning from a war zone. This issue was treated with respect which I approved of. Overall I love it and will definitely keep watching

I started watching the show because I love everything Army related. I enjoyed the Army parts but they are really bad. I barely watched the whole episode. First, the main character is the only reason I watched the show. The actor is doing a great job but it's not enough. The rest of the cast is just bad. We have three brothers. The big brother is looking after the rest. The middle is nothing special. He attacks his little brother for talking too much most of the time during the episode. The little brother is really weird. He always says stupid stuff and trying to be "the cool guy no one from the cast likes but is the one the public likes". The storyline is actually pretty nice but I couldn't care less for the plot. The comedy is really lame and stupid. Some of the jokes are not even jokes. They are stuff that the characters are saying and you are supposed to laugh. I give it 3/10 only because the brothers are well casted. (one star for every brother)

...this show is awful. I like Geoff Stults. I loved "The Finder" and I was outraged when they took it away from me. The character he portrayed was intriguing, but the producers and the network couldn't figure out what to do with him. The pilot was outstanding, but they messed with it. They replaced Saffron Burrows (MISTAKE), gave his character an unbelievable relationship, never quite made enough use of his amazing abilities. The late Michael Clarke Duncan was wonderful in the series, and Maddie Hasson as Willow as spectacular. I'd say Fox wasted a tremendous property. But "Enlisted"... Geoff is the ONLY reason I sat all the way through the pilot, and I have no intention of wasting any more time on it. My wife said, "Don't they put their best stuff in the pilot? It's only going to get WORSE from this?" I think that says it all. Sad.

My father was in the Canadian Forces for over 25 years. The Royal Canadian Air Force or RCAF. We also spent 3 years in Duluth Minnesota and at times Dad was flown with his Colonel to some of the best golf courses in the United States because he was a Scratch Golfer. So yes I do know a little about military life. I am really amazed at how many of the reviewers thought this television show would depict Enlisted as a documentary of military life. What these reviewers don't realize is Enlisted is a comedy; a tongue in cheek comedy. Comedies are not about fact. Military shows like these are all about breaking the rules and engaging in activities that would never happen in the military. It is about someone punching a colonel and being sent home, wearing the uniforms incorrectly or not meeting the weight requirement. I compared this show to the likes of Gomer Pyle, McHale's Navy, MASH, Stripes and Private Benjamin. Of which I enjoyed for their entertainment value and not for their authenticity. Most of us realized these shows and movies were not how military really was. So for all you negative reviewers sit back and enjoy the show and remember that it is a comedy and not a documentary.

The pilot episode of "Enlisted" secures it's place alongside "Brooklyn-Nine-Nine" and "Trophy Wife" as one of this year's best new comedies. The show is a sitcom that revolves around a stateside military base in Florida, where the three Hill brothers are reunited for the first time in over and year and placed in the same unit. While they follow in their father's footsteps in the military to varying degrees (from the supersoldier Pete Hill, to the sarcastically discourteous Derek and the comically enthusiastic Rudy), they all end up together in an inept unit of soldiers. Despite it being a little off and choppy in places, I think that's merely a pilot-related issue, as the show demonstrates great promise (reminds me of Stripes). The relationship between the brothers works right off the bat, and hopefully they can begin to examine the rest of the unit beyond the introductory/generalized jokes that were made about their appearance in the pilot. All in all, the episode was equal parts heartfelt (hand on head) and funny ("I have killed Bradley Cooper!") and will keep me coming back. In spite of my confidence in the writer's ability to keep things going strong, I do have a bone to pick with Fox on the scheduling of this show. Once again, they show their ineptitude by slotting Enlisted's pilot episode on a Friday night after the offbeat "Raising Hope". If Enlisted is left in the Friday night "death/DVR slot", this promising show will have no chance of surviving past April and we can cue the summer campaigns and twitter hashtags of #bringbackenlisted

Terrible witing and dialog. Have interesting situations not stupid slapstick
Terrible witing and dialog. Have interesting situations not stupid slapstickJun 14, 2025

The actors look good nd the idea has merit. The actions of the characters are like dumb out of control junior high kids and the dialogue is just stupid. IT IS NOT FUNNY. It reminds me of the slapstick antics of the 60s sitcoms like I Love Lucy and Blondie. I think we are way beyond that now. You have a tough sergeant and plausible characters in the plot. Why have all of them act so dumb and out of control. The writers need to give the character at least minimal intelligence and take them to funny or entertaining situations.I watched about 15 min of the pilot and couldn't take anymore. I don't know who the writers think acts this stupid but I have never seen this type of conduct except in old sitcoms. Get new writers and change the story line and the series has a chance. Otherwise I give it one season at most.

This show is hilarious and highly enjoyable! All a great comedy needs are funny characters and a solid story line. This show delivers on both. The cast is well selected and offers different personalities and relationship dynamics that viewers can relate to. Randy, played by Parker Young, steals the pilot's spotlight. He is your classic scarecrow: without a brain, but oh so hilariously endearing. As an overly emotional solider, he makes for a perfect contradiction of societal expectations. Aside from the great cast, the army setting is a brilliant choice for comedy. It is nothing new to TV, but Enlisted is goofier than your standards (MASH, e.g.) and offers a look into the lighter side of life on a military base. The show is careful not to make a mockery by illustrating themes of family, commitment, and teamwork - what soldiers and families living on military bases espouse. Even if not intended, Enlisted is a novel tribute to the troops and simply a great new family friendly sitcom in Fox's lineup. If the upcoming episodes are anything like the pilot, I'm "enlisted"!

A Sit-Com for People Who Hate Sit-Coms
A Sit-Com for People Who Hate Sit-ComsJun 14, 2025

I generally detest sit-coms, even supposedly brilliant ones. I don't even what possessed me to even watch the pilot ep but I'm glad I did as I watched the next three eps back-to-back, laughing out loud at the numerous quick-witted throw-away comments that never come across as contrived. There are large, obvious, in-your-face gags that I don't find particularly amusing but for the most part they work to progress the plot line. The best way I can describe it in terms of humor is to compare it to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, which it has nothing whatsoever to do with in terms of plot, but the rhythm is similar: If you like the glaring attempts at humor at the "special reports" then you will find that aspect in Enlisted. As for me, those skits run a bit too long so I welcome the brevity of that style in Enlisted, since I prefer the sarcastic one- liners that whiz by so fast you can easily miss them. The best part, aside from some great talent, is the lack of laugh track.

Insulting and Disrespectful
Insulting and DisrespectfulJun 14, 2025

I am the son of two sailors, the grandson and nephew of soldiers and the cousin to marines, and I found this highly insulting to all of them. First of all, this show is not an accurate representation of military life at all. Wearing of covers is MANDATORY outdoors, Blouses are NEVER open when in formation, and lastly the two overweight soldiers would NEVER be allowed to remain in the service at the weight they are at, not to mention the numerous other uniform violations I saw. The LEAST Fox could have done is bring a consultant from the Army in on this program. Second Problem is the Military Bearing, or lack there of. NO SOLDIER would ever strike their superior officer and get away with it with just being sent home. If that was the case half if not all of our soldiers would be home right now because of it. As it stands, the lead character would be either in Fort Leavenworth Prison or Dishonorably Discharged from the service. Lastly, Rear "D" is not a unit of rejects. Rear "D" are soldiers who stay on a base to keep it open while our boys are at war. They do not do half of the jobs you see in this show. In short, this show is insulting, demeaning and should be discontinued. I cannot see how ANYONE thought this show was appropriate, and I am surprised the Corporate Big-Wigs who own Fox would be OK with this. Fox has to get it together and fast, or they will alienated a majority of the country if not every soldier serving their countries world-wide.

i absolutely love it!

This TV show is so funny. The humor in it reminds me of all my friends in the military proudly supporting our country who act and feel the same way as these characters. The TV show accurately depicts the life of a military personnel when they are with their other fellow men and woman. I hope this show stays on for many seasons to come. Not only do i love the story's in each episode, it reminds me and brings back memories of all my friends who i dearly miss. Many of my friends who have seen this show and also served think its a good show to watch and shows the people that they aren't only trained soldier's but friend's, mentor's, and most of all family. The creator should be happy knowing that so many of the men and woman who give their life every day and night to protect us and provide us with our freedom love and adore this show and are on the edge waiting for the new episode to air! thank you
