In this episode of The Dragon on My Shirt, former Cardiff City, Nottingham Forest, and West Brom striker Rob Earnshaw shares his journey as Wales’ highest-scoring Black men’s international footballer. Born in Zambia and raised in Caerphilly from the age of nine, Rob reflects on identity, belonging, and growing up in Welsh football. Presenter Darren Chetty speaks with Rob and his mother, Rita, about their life in Zambia and Malawi, their move to Wales, and the experiences that shaped Rob’s career on and off the pitch. Together, they revisit powerful moments, including Rob’s iconic winning goal against Germany, his hat-trick against Scotland, and a return to the Principality (Millennium) Stadium. Rob also reflects on his school days at Cardinal Newman High School, Rhydyfelin, and the roots that grounded him.
