Everton fell to a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in the Blues’ opening fixture at their new home, Goodison Park. A bumper crowd turned out for the occasion as 6,473 fans made the trip to L4 for the historic fixture. The visitors opened the scoring through Olga Ahtinen, who finished past Courtney Brosnan after a fortunate deflection freed her up inside the area with 27 minutes on the clock. Martin Ho’s side then doubled their advantage in the 49th minute as Cathinka Tandberg’s spectacular lobbed effort from 40-yards found the back of the net.
