Vietnamese pencak silat gold medalist: 'My Thai opponent was trying to kick me in the wound'

Despite suffering blows to his old injuries from home fighter Suthat Bunchit, Nguyen Tan Sang endured the pain to win the gold medal in pencak silat at the 33rd SEA Games. In the men's under 80kg pencak silat final this morning, December 17th, Tan Sang defeated Suthat after 25 minutes with a decisive score of 84-53. He brought home the first gold medal for Vietnamese pencak silat at the 33rd SEA Games. #seagames2025 #pencaksilat
