Synopsis
Publisher's Summary Harper Lee’s Pulitzer prize-winning masterwork of honor and injustice in the deep south - and the heroism of one man in the face of blind and violent hatred, available now for the first time as a digital audiobook. One of the best-loved stories of all time, To Kill a Mockingbird has been translated into more than 40 languages, sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, served as the basis for an enormously popular motion picture, and was voted one of the best novels of the 20th century by librarians across the country. A gripping, heart-wrenching, and wholly remarkable tale of coming-of-age in a South poisoned by virulent prejudice, it views a world of great beauty and savage inequities through the eyes of a young girl, as her father - a crusading local lawyer - risks everything to defend a black man unjustly accused of a terrible crime. An Audible for Dogs Pick: Make your dog's day. Cesar Millan shares how audiobooks can make dogs happier and calmer. Learn more. ©1988 Harper Lee (P)2006 HarperCollins Publishers

The most well written boring book possible. Good writing but no story by Chapter 9

I'm rThe Ty EWeyeteI even though it is not the same thing you can s

the only reason I'm reading this is for school, and I absolutely hate it! It's not my type of book but I have to read it

But I can tell you one thing. Sissy Spacek's reading of this classic is nothing short of transcendent.

This book is racist. It perpetuates American attitudes towards race. Atticus is the benevolent white man who is so good. A great role that white men play, or wants to be seen as in this country. Yet inequality persists thru today. This book does not develop the African American characters and just groups them into the stereotypical *N* word.

Bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad not good at all don’t read

I cannot find enough words to praise the elegant, believable performance of Sissy Spacek reading this classic. This was a book I’d read before yet hearing her as Scout gave it an entirely different feel. I loved it so much and cried when it ended. The beautiful notes of this story, the bravery and innocence of Scout, the allegiance of Jem, and especially the understated goodness of Atticus made my heart soar. I will listen to this again. This may be one of my favorite narrations to date—and I listen to MANY books. So, so perfect. Thank you, Sissy!

for me the books peformance is great but the story is a tad boring the story is just a slight subspecies of the default segregation book just with more details

This book is dumb don’t get it I only got it because I was forced to read it

I struggled to read this book... couldn't keep up or understand what was going on. That could be due to the book not being that interesting to me. I don't know, but didnt finish.
