Synopsis
Publisher's Summary In the decades since the initial publication of The Way of the Superior Man, society has changed significantly. Issues of gender and sexuality long confined to secrecy have become part of everyday conversation, and rigid ideas about our societal roles have begun to dissolve. And yet, perhaps now more than at any time, men of all ages still “tussle with the challenges of women, work, and sexual desire.” In this unabridged audiobook of the classic guide to masculine spirituality, David Deida encourages men and women to lean into the conversation and offer their most valuable assets to the world - their authentic heart and depth of presence. More relevant than ever, The Way of the Superior Man offers a view of a more conscious and embodied masculinity. “It is time to evolve beyond the macho jerk ideal, all spine and no heart”, writes Deida. “It is also time to evolve beyond the sensitive and caring wimp ideal, all heart and no spine.” Including a new preface written in celebration of the book’s 20th anniversary, The Way of the Superior Man presents the next generation of with the opportunity to grapple with fear, cultivate trust in the moment, and put forth the best versions of themselves in an ever-changing world. it was really funny, atte first I thought ir was a serious book and i was desapointed but when i realisade it was a comedy book then I couldn't stop laughing

It’s okay to listen to but I wouldn’t highly recommend it to men or women. I believe it’s pretty subjective and mostly following along with what society impose on us on how a man should be. This book to have some good points but not enough that it’s a must read. As society evolves I don’t think this book would best fit my generation and generations to come. It seems as this book is trying to keep women in a submissive position mentally and physically. I also feel the rationalizes women behavior and transfer the responsibility on to the man so he can deal with and take the blame for it.

After a few chapters deep I could not take it anymore.I do enjoy having a spiritual aspect to your life, but the verbiage used to describe some aspects in the book are just too "hippie" for me.I'm just leaving this review to hopefully save someone else the trouble if they get immediately repulsed by such things as "cosmic love energies" and other phrases like these.

I finally understand the problem that I have had with relationships with the opposite sex. It is myself. As I listen to this book, I evaluatedthe different scenarios from my recent relationship. I take 100% ownership in the disconnections that I had. Did you catch the word, "had"?I also have a better understanding for the position that I have in my life, a better understanding of the feelings of discontentment, and disappointment, in my is as opposed to where it should be, and a better understanding as to why it is that my career has morphed from where it started to where it is now.I will make this book a continual study. I can see how it's going to change and sculpt my life in so many different areas in so many different ways. The recording quality dropped dramatically halfway through the book. Seems like it was recorded in two different settings and the second half was a little bit difficult for my aging ears.

What starts as a decent guide to different aspects of manhood, quickly devolves into a book about holding back orgasms to make your lover trust you more....

Valuable if you are a man that is into yoga and spreading "ocean of love" ideas. The pink psychodelic shrink-wrap with a yogic bent, might be a bit too much for a man who tries to find his way between utter and unnatural domestication and the deep urge to rough it out in the great outdoors.

Yes at times it’s a bit heavy, and times it may be construed as “new-agey” but if you can pull your head out of your own ass little bit and hear the message for what a real MAN is supposed to be and his masculine role to his woman, career, life, trajectory, and energy you already half way they the application is little tricky but well worth the time to understand and implement the practices in this book.ALL BOYS WHO WANT TO BE MEN AND MEN WHO WANT TO ASCEND NEED to read this book

the book is good but wish the author gavemore examples and practical applications for the theory. examples and too little to grasp thr content.

very straightforward insight into relationship mindset and dynamics between a man and woman. this book without question will explain some great versions of what most women truly want, and moreover, how we can embody the qualities of a man, most women would like to have in a long term or lifetimepartner. great sex is always good, but this book highlights some reasons why great sex alone will never be sustaining. personally,I feel this is ABSOLUTELY a book for both men and women.

Life changing book that every man should read. I loved the polarity concept which is easier to keep in mind.

This book is filled with nothing but the truth that every male should be raised with.

Amazing, and eye opening, one of the most riveting nonfiction books I've listened too in a while.

Great book and wonderful content t to read as a woman trying to understand what men try to achieve or how they think. It does assume a lot of black and white, though, without considering the grey. It also presumes a lot about women, sometimes in an offensive and unipolar way. It suggests we are mostly incapable of intellectual thoughts that aren't guided by emotion and can be swayed out of a bad mood with tickles and being twirled around I the air like a child. But there were many nuggets and pearls of basic things to live by which I can even apply to my masculine and feminine sides. I would recommend this book to friends.

LOVE this book! Highly recommend for every man and woman! I'm excited to live this truth with a man!

The only book that you will ever need to listen to regarding feminine-masculine dynamics. He speaks without offending God and approximates truth in his articulation of these dynamics. Very practical, clear, and empowering.

it was interesting and thought provoking,it left me thinking about searching out the meanings. any book that makes you think is a good book

Deep complex description of interpersonal relationships - worth a second or third listen to mater the content - intelligent and will re-frame your perspective.Highly recommend.

On chapter 8 and so far there's no substance no breakthrough no value just a bunch of words which I already know I'm not sure why the reviews are good with this book because it is not. Not sure if I'll listen to the rest because the first part as delivered so little

Yeah this book is really just a cringy guy saying what he thinks men should be and enforces some dumb ass roles. His writing is so shit. Every sentence is packed with a dozen metaphors and allusions while every noun has to have a half dozen adjectives attached to it, and its done to make everything this guy says seem profound but it's really weightless.

Over excellent book. Book talks about masculinity and femininity in a way that’s easy to understand.

I’m a woman reading this book and I must say this book has given me a deeper insight to what a masculine man looks like. I even took away some lessons for a better relationship in my life. I am definitely going to give this book to all the men in my life who I admire.
