As for me l don't see anywere where there is a problame with this movie,,if u concentrate with it u will get the full story right. It is one of the best

I thought the lead female and male where both excellent actors. Don't listen to all the crazies about this movie being woke. Not a clue what they are talking about. Unless you don't like a white man with a black woman. (We all know that's called something else...not woke) sad that a good show has crappy reviews. I enjoyed it. Especially since I didn't have to commit to a second season. It could have easily been a movie instead of a series though. It's worth the watch.

I am baffled by bad reviews of this show. It is a thriller, we do not know who characters really are because the story reveals them from episode to episode. The protagonist is played by a beautiful and talented actress and we follow her through her struggle. Realistically, I would have given this show seven stars, ten is just because it has been so unjustly criticized. All in all, it's a pleasant entertaining show.

So weird that people are calling this "woke" it isn't. It's about class, but I'm British, so maybe not as triggered. For me it's about memory and the part that plays in identity, that's why it's interesting. I love the contained acting. Loving the "beautiful people". I wouldn't watch if you're interested in hero's and villains, it's more complex than that and you'll just become focused on the wrong things. Why does Sophie need to know about the time before she lost her memory? Who is Tess? What is the threat? Are people in Sophie's life who they say they are and are they being honest about who she is? Can they be? How much of our past makes us who we are now? Get past the colour of characters skin and there are more interesting questions there. This is a slow burn, that promises interesting answers.

Maybe I'm biased because I love Gugu! I don't understand the bad reviews! I'm only on the second episode but so far so good for me! I'm truly invested in this show! I can't wait to see what happens next!

An lack lustre and average script played out by an average cast with average direction but what really let's this down is the terrible photography. The DOP's are one trick ponies using the "Portrait" effect incorrectly and unnecessarily, ruining an otherwise interesting or great shot with an out-of-place fake blurred effect for absolutely no reason. This effect is used so much production could have saved on expensive location shoots and filmed it entirely in grandma's kitchen! The producers should be ashamed of this one.

I too, I am perplexed as to why some reviewer's refer to this series as "woke." It must be because of the interracial marriage aspect of the two main characters, because I see no other sign of "wokeness" here. If it is just the interracial marriage aspect, then it's a sad commentary about the state of our culture today. This vehicle to tell a story has been used many times before. It is done adequately here. It really depends upon the plot twists yet to come, and the motives of the characters to see how well this will be pulled off. This series is certainly entertaining, but, I fear, rather predictable. There are ample opportunities for plot twists, and surprises among the various characters. The actors are certainly up to this task of pulling this off, and do a good job with their respective roles. Will the writers give material worthy of the actor's abilities? That remains to be seen. It is enjoyable entertainment, and I believe it is worthwhile.

The acting is terrible, and the writing is even worse. There are so many problems with this story, I don't even know where to begin. The dialogue was horrid. People just don't talk to each other like that. I guess "Surface" was the right title. The scene with the cab driver who tries to cross the GG Bridge because "it's the best way" to go. Really? There is nowhere IN San Francisco Sophie would be going that would involve the bridge...... No. Just no. Also, who runs down the middle of streets in the hills of the city? No one. I don't have time to list everything that went wrong. I'm giving up in the middle of episode two.

So I tried this show, but to be honest it had a lot of time trying to recover in my mind as anything worthwhile once I saw that this was not a reboot of the show by the same name. Tried to reset my mind on this new show, but I was bored and/or it was just not for me.

When you visit the AFSP you wade through a site that's predominantly about (and for) women. Then you read their statistics and find that it's near 4 to 1, men to women. And those of us paying attention know this has been the same for over a decade, likely longer. Yet no one is making movies or shows about it. No one seems to care. Just as the movie regarding Tinder where a man scammed women. And there's thousands of women on there (and other dating apps) scamming men. Some of these women are even being paid by the app... No one seems to care I'm NOT saying do nothing for women. However... should men's wellbeing continue to be completely ignored? 4 to 1.
