It's indeed a wonderful movie i was even thinking with those people case at hand Dana and mark might end up getting a divorce

Really weak ending!
Really weak ending!Oct 10, 2024

I would have rated this a 6 until we got close to the end of the movie. Then it really appeared as if the script writers had significantly more content to their story that was never shown in the movie. I suspect that to whittle this movie down to the 1 hour 24 minute length that had been specified so that Hallmark could maximize their profit from commercials, some of the essential-story scenes got left on the cutting room floor. When we got to the last commercial, I thought I was watching a Hallmark Movie and Mystery where the "who-done-it" would not be revealed until the last 5 minutes. But at least those mysteries tie up all the loose ends regarding the innocent suspects. In this movie (not a mystery), the ruse was exposed, the divorce was off, the "guilty parties" were each separately confronted with their hidden monies on live TV, and then nothing else was mentioned - did this fuel another divorce filing, or did they forgive each other, or did they stay together for business reasons? Who knows? The focus of the story (the divorce) was totally ignored, and in three last 90 seconds, the two lawyers quit their jobs, established their own firm, and had a baby together. The end! I was totally unsatisfied with the assumptions that the viewer was supposed to conclude because the movie had not adequately addressed the end of the story. Hallmark - you need the get back the wisdom of Larry Levinson to make better romantic movies!

SOMETHING DIFFERENT BUT DISAPPOINTING
SOMETHING DIFFERENT BUT DISAPPOINTINGOct 3, 2024

Lawyers Mark (Brennan Elliott) and Dana (Lacey Chabert) are the perfect married couple until they find themselves on opposite sides of a highly public divorce case involving a warring reality show couple. The couple's clients, are combative, materialistic egomaniacs who make unreasonable demands on their lawyers. The stress impacts the happily married lawyer couple, and to help keep the viewer awake from all the boring dialogue, another element is added, Mark starts pressuring Dana that it's time to have a baby. All the tension impacts the couples happy marriage. Instead of an intriguing fun movie in the vein of ADAM'S RIB, the viewer is just plain BORED as the movie DRAGS on and on as the viewer anxiously waits for this movie to JUST COME TO AN EXPECTED END!

Not as good as I'd hoped

Pairing Lacey Chabert - the undisputed and reigning Queen of Hallmark - with Brennan Elliott has generally been akin to hitting the mother lode for Hallmark (think the "All of My Heart" trilogy, "A Christmas Melody" and a handful of "Crossword Mystery" movies as well) and I had high hopes that "His & Hers" would continue the success that this duo has when starring opposite one another. Alas, the story of a husband and wife lawyers on either side of the divorce of a high profile reality TV couple fell flat for me. As noted, Chabert and Elliott play a married couple...but their interactions seem almost more businesslike than anything else. Would it have killed them to show some real passion? I didn't see any chemistry there, which isn't something I often say about films starring that duo. Ultimately, one you can put down in the "Missed Opportunity" file for Hallmark.

I loved it! It was nice to see a healthy married couple interact with one another over work and their private life.

I love Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott. I particularly like them together as they have wonderful chemistry and seem to play off one another well. The story follows two married lawyers, Dana and Mark, who are simultaneously assigned high profile clients while celebrating their own seven year anniversary. Normally, Mark handles domestic disputes and Dana handles corporate mergers, but they both end up on opposite sides of a reality tv couple's divorce (Tabby and Brett). Dana is doing a favor for her uncle Paul and initially thinks everything will be smooth sailing until it's clear neither Tabby nor Brett are going to give an inch...they also unwisely do not listen to their respective council. On the home front, not only are Dana and Mark celebrating their seventh wedding anniversary, but they are discussing the possibility of starting a family. It was nice to see a healthy and supportive relationship as the one exhibited between Dana and Mark. They knew each other well and they treated each other with love and respect. Most importantly, they listened to one another. There was humor and love...and a fun wardrobe. I think romantics will love this Hallmark offering and I recommend it. There is some great dialogue and funny humor.

Age appropriate??
Age appropriate??Sep 22, 2024

These two have done several tv hallmark movies together and their chemistry is very good. But really pushing the age appropriate plots here. Yes I guess the best way they can maybe get away with this is that Lacey doesn't look 42 yrs. It just irks me that why don't they ever put in an adoption as a possibility. Are they so vain that they wouldn't be able to accept an adoption as their own? My favorite reference was that of Lacey's character loving goats. In their first movies, the All of Me trilogy, she had cute little goats. This movie isn't awful but I just get tired of the endings that really don't make sense.

I generally love Lacey and Brennan, but the two other divorcing characters made this unwatchable. They were too cartoonish and ridiculous. And pushing to have a baby? I know couples are having babies at older ages, but Lacey is 42, Brennan is 49, so the baby issue didn't ring true. Viewers can tell how old these people are, stop trying to make us believe a 40+ actors is 30. I realize Reality Stars may be over the top in their personalities, but the two in this movie farcical and bore no resemblance to real people. Hallmark needs to use younger actors if part of the plot is about having children. Nothing about this movie was entertaining, and I couldn't make it to the end.

This is a very light hearted offering that almost seems like it is not taking itself seriously. I wondered at times if there was some parody, but I wasn't sure of what. Married professionals? Reality stars? I can't imagine why everyone wanted them to oppose one another in the case because it didn't seem healthy for either couple to have Dana and Mark as opposing counsel. So many things seemed even more unrealistic than you come to expect in this genre. Chabert and Elliot did look like their characters had been married awhile, especially their kisses. They kissed like "an old married couple" with a glancing peck. Not like stories where a couple is having a first kiss and each goes in with vigor and ... tongues. I wondered where the story was going and definitely did not see that one coming despite the clues. It didn't seem like any great highs or lows or even tension until ... Surprise!
