Easily one of the best horror movies I've ever seen. How is this movie rated in mid 5s?

I find it really hard to overcome the awe I'm in after watching this masterpiece. Absolutely astounding. Starts really strong, gives off very classic vibe of a forgotten monastery where monks have gone mad...and builds on that. No jumpscares, no pathos. Nothing extremely supernatural, yet full of extremely satisfying, deep content. Characters are played really well. The craftsmanship behind their costumes, their motivations, their general demeanor - absolutely on point. Contrary to most recent horrors, I have never chuckled at absurdity of a scene. As a horror lover, that's news to me. Completely griping, shocking, I can recommend it to anyone who loves a good horror that's built on atmosphere of fear, instead of gore or jumpscares. Loved it.

OK. So I have read all of the low rated reviews, and they all have the same characteristics, they didn't understand the ending. So, I'm here to help you all understand what all of the symbolism and ending means without spoilers. First off, you all need to know about the Occult and what the phrase "As Above, So Below" means. This is one of the main points in the movie. The point that all the low reviews of this movie did not understand. There is a movie named "As Above, So Below" that came out in 2014. If you have not watched this, you are missing out on a great horror movie, but it explains what the term means. Also, the Satanic Baphomet statue represents Hell on earth, as it is purposely seated using gestures with one hand pointing up towards the Heavens, the other pointing down towards Hell. As Above, So Below. Once you grasp that Satan mocks Jesus and God by doing the complete opposite of God the Creator, the movie will make more sense. Especially the ending. Also, the "Reverse" end credits are a nice touch to prove the above statements. Now, my review on the film: This movie is top notch creepy. Downright terrifying after you know a little of the Occult and symbolism of real life Satan worship. The Visuals are beautiful... The Story horrifying... The Music is outstanding... This is simply one of the Top Best Horror movies ever created. A Masterpiece.

This new netflix movie could have been a lot better than what we had. Now its not terrible and there are some redeming parts. These being the creation of the hell hole and ghe cgi for thr creature with the sheephead. There was a lot of scenes throughout though that never really went anywhere. They were slow and though its for the tension i did find myself skipping some parts of it. The best part comes at the end but i can't go into what happens there. Id recommend watching it yourself to make your own opinion. Apart from that though the acting was alright and the cgi was pretty good. In the end though these nothing new but some grotesque parts.

Everything is going well until the end ruins it. From starting to ending, it makes us believe that it all about frauds who are doing business through this killing woman without any reasons and at last what happened? This!! I was so invested til end, I was hoping, the police officer would disclose everyone. But, not he turned into Saytan! What is this? I don't know these days, why ending are so bad! I was enjoying this though I thought, it was a ghost movie but it wasn't still I was enjoying, it was giving me thrills. But,ending is so awful. I won't recommend this to anyone as starting will raise your expectations and ending will ruin it :)

Hellhole: Poland 1957. A priest is shot dead by police just as he is about to slay a baby in the belief that it is the Antichrist. 1987, a policeman, Marek, disguised as a priest enters a monastery to investigate disappearances in the area. It is a grim place, no electricity, dark damp corridors, terrible food, Spartan cells. It serves as an asylum for the possessed and the Prior swiftly gets Marek to assist in an exorcism, the possessed woman appears to channel a demon, a crucifix bursts into flames. Marek undertakes a clandestine search of the Priors office and finds evidence that all is not as it seems. But this is just the start of a journey which will put not just his life but his very soul at risk. Gruesome murders, human sacrifice and violence. A detailed ritual is also carried out to summon the Devil to Earth. Yiu'll need a strong stomach to last out this dark Polish horror film, definitely not for the squeamish or fainthearted. Plenty of plot twists as the narrative unfolds leading on to a brilliant ending. Directed & Co-Written. By Bartosz M. Kowalski. On Netflix. 7.5/10.
